Photography Composition


Rhythm


Rhythm- objects in pictures that repeat, can create a sense of movement, or can create a pattern/texture.

This photo is an example of rhythm because the bushes in the photo repeat and create a pattern.


Framing
Framing- is simply using other objects in your photograph to frame the main subject


This photo is an example of framing because the subject of the photo is framed by the chain link fence.

Horizontal
Horizontal- when a picture is wider than it is tall

This photo is an example of a horizontal photo because the photo is wider than it is taller.

Sharp Focus

Sharp Focus- is when an image has clear/sharp detail

This photo is an example of sharp focus photography because the photo is clear and shows all the detail of the pencil.

Low key

Low key- a photo with low, less intense light

This photo is an example of low key lighting because the rest of the main focus of the picture is lit up but the rest of the photo is dark.
